Asolo is small medieval town, where you can feel the real atmosphere of Italy, Lucky it is located near to my hometown and not far fromVenice (60 km) upon a hill in a priviliged position. It is called "the city of a hundred horizons" because of the great landscapes. The town has maintained its medieval look, surrounded by the old walls and gates and dominated by theRocca, a castle that during the Middle Ages was built to protect the town form attacks. Today that beautiful city is home for about 15 000 people. Travel writer Freya Stark, along with Ernest Hemingway, once called Asolo home and signs of both can be found around the town.
